Technical Data Management - SME
Are you passionate about data and technology? Do you have a knack for enhancing data management processes and ensuring data quality, compliance, and usability? If so, we want YOU to join our client's team as a Technical Data Management Subject Matter Expert (SME)!
In this role, you will be the go-to expert in the Data Management team, driving initiatives that align with industry best practices while supporting the implementation of key data management processes. You will play a vital role in bridging the technical and business sides of data management to ensure high-quality, compliant, and accessible data across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Develop metadata processing solutions using advanced Data Management tools to align with the company's policies and standards.
- Catalogue company's assets and metadata in the Data Management tool.
- Configure search capabilities (Data Marketplace) to enable users to find, search for, and request access to assets catalogued in Collibra.
- Develop & manage a robust Data Governance Framework, ensuring role-based permissions for users.
- Promote & Train - Lead training sessions, create reusable guides, and help foster adoption of the Data Management tool across teams.
- Collaborate with both business and technical teams to design and deliver tools like Collibra, Purview, Informatica, Atlan, and more.
- Ensure Data Security - Implement and maintain strict protocols for protecting sensitive metadata and complying with data protection regulations.
- Build & Maintain end-to-end data lineage for easy traceability.
- Develop & Enhance workflows to connect the right people to the right data at the right time.
Skills and Experience:
- A degree in an IT technology or related field.
- 6+ years of experience with Data Management Tools (e.g., Collibra, Purview, Informatica, Atlan, Anomalo).
- Strong knowledge of Data Management principles and technologies.
- Ability to analyze business needs and turn them into effective data-driven strategies.
- Experience integrating tools like Databricks with Data Governance solutions.
- Hands-on experience with SQL for metadata querying and data lineage tracking.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) for governance and security.
- Proficiency in Eclipse, Python, Java, or Groovy for developing workflows.
- Experience implementing a Data Quality Framework and following best practices in data analysis.
- Experience in developing user-specific dashboards.
- Certifications in Data Management tools (Collibra, Purview, Informatica, etc.)
- Experience with Collibra's EDGE capability for datastores and asset lineages.
- Experience in HTML and CSS for developing user dashboards.
