Technical Consultant

About the position

A leading construction materials organisation is seeking a Technical Consultant to provide expert technical support and guidance to customers within the construction industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technical solutions, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting quality and product excellence initiatives.

Requirements:

• National Diploma in Chemistry or Civil Engineering.
• Advanced Concrete Technology (ACT) Diploma or similar qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within construction processes, including:
• Concrete production
• Concrete mix design
• Mortars and plasters
• Quality control
• Construction materials applications
• Strong technical knowledge of cement, aggregates, admixtures, and concrete technologies.
• Experience with material applications and quality control standards.
• Knowledge of SANS specifications relating to aggregates, cement, and concrete.
• Strong customer relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and technical report-writing abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Strong understanding of market trends and evolving technical requirements in the construction industry.
• Well-versed in SANS specifications for aggregates, cement, and concrete.
• Ability to build and manage strategic relationships.
• Highly detail-oriented with strong customer record management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, including presentations and technical report writing.
• Strong problem-solving ability with a pragmatic and persuasive approach.
• Skilled in planning, organising, and executing tasks with precision and professionalism.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
