About the position
Our client based in Germiston, is seeking a Technical Assistance Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate would be responsible for providing technical support before and after sales, collaborating closely with the Product Managers, Sales team and Quality Control.
RESPONSIBILIES:
- Provides technical trainings to the Sales department, Product Managers, customers, applicators and technicians when required to do so.
- Additionally, required to do CPD presentations to Architects and Engineers
- Ensures a continuous technical update and improvement by editing and integrating the technical documentation.
- Draw and Draft specifications, method statements, details in consultation with PM’s
- Signing off specification, method statements, guarantees prior to being issued to the client and ensure the application systems are correctly assigned for each job specification
- Oversee implementation of guarantees, QA and QC and Specifications
- Collaborates with the R&D department to improve the formulation of already existing products and to develop new ones to promptly satisfy market needs.
- Cooperates with the Quality Management Department to manage claims in alignment with the internal, local and Corporate procedures and ensure claims are processed for each guarantee that is applied for.
- Joins meetings with the construction regulation authorities and regulation bodies in order to remain relevant and updated on specific laws and regulations related to the market.
- Manages, supervises and develops the Technical Assistance Team, in collaboration with the HR Department.
- Ensures periodic reporting to management and HQ in case of any change or update and works in close cooperation with the Corporate Technical Services Department who provides guidelines, operative and specialist instructions.
- Communicate technical information to all sales staff and to customers
- Communicate with head office on technical aspects such as sites, systems, details and customer complaints
- Perform and report on site investigations and customer complaints through the identification of problems and specifications.
- Collaborates with the Marketing department in project and site references, and provides technical support at Expo’s and seminars where company is taking part
- Follows and implements corporate policies and procedures, while performing his/her activities.
REQUIREMENTS:
- NQF level 7 or higher in Civil Engineering or related qualification
- 5 years construction material experience
- 3 years management experience
- AutoCAD – Intermediate experience will be advantageous
