Technical Advisor - Limpopo at Ntice Search

About the position

Westfalia Marketing Africa situated in Tzaneen in Limpopo, has a permanent vacancy for a suitably qualified and experienced Technical Advisor.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for technical / horticultural support to growers supplying subtropical fruit such as avocados, mangoes, and litchis through Westfalia Marketing. 

Qualifications / Experience:

• BSc / MSc Agriculture, preferably in Horticulture or Soil Science.
• Previous experience in / exposure to containerized shipping of fruit would be advantageous.

Knowledge:

• In-depth understanding of pre- and post-harvest agricultural principles and practices for fresh produce.
• Solid understanding of the principles of nutrition of tree crops.
• A basic knowledge of the principles of food safety management.
• Fully proficient in Microsoft Excel (strong in data management, pivot tables). GIS experience would be useful.
