Technical Account Manager

About the position

A leading chemical and composites company is looking for an experienced Technical Account Manager with strong experience in technical sales, client relationship management and the composites or related industry to join their team in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will serve as the primary technical liaison between the company and its clients, providing guidance on product implementation and optimisation, resolving technical issues, and working closely with Sales, Product Development and Customer Support.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders and understand their technical and business needs.
• Act as the primary technical contact for client discussions, escalations and problem solving.
• Guide clients on product implementation, configuration, optimisation and best practices.
• Manage technical projects, coordinate resources, monitor timelines and communicate project status.
• Initiate customer contact, identify required products and services, and support the achievement of sales targets.
• Understand market trends and implement sales plans.
• Forecast and monitor sales and evaluate targets regularly.
• Identify prospective customers and support customer events and hosting.
• Maintain effective customer relationships.
• Assist with finance agreements and communicate customer credit positions to support continuity of supply.
• Assist with perpetual and quarterly stock counts as required.

Requirements:

• Recognised National or International Sales Qualification, or a National or International Chemical or related qualification.
• Minimum 3 years' practical sales experience in the composites or related industry.
• Proven sales track record.
• Demonstrable computer experience.
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Flexibility and ability to respond effectively to change.
• Positive attitude, passion and enthusiasm.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Strong customer focus and commitment to exceeding customer expectations.
