About the position
ENVIRONMENT:
A global technology consulting company dedicated to revolutionizing business processes through cutting-edge solutions is seeking a Teamcenter Administrator to support their operations from their Cape Town [URL Removed] is a specialized PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) administration role responsible exclusively for the setup, configuration, and management of the Teamcenter. The position does not include general IT support responsibilities. You will work closely with global IT and engineering teams in the U.S. and Costa Rica, ensuring a stable, efficient, and compliant PLM environment. The role involves hands-on system administration, process optimization, and collaboration with end users to ensure optimal utilization of Teamcenter capabilities across the organization.
DUTIES:
- Administer, configure, and maintain the Teamcenterto ensure stability, security, and performance.
- Manage Teamcenter users, permissions, access controls, and data lifecycle processes.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, workflows, and integrations with CAD tools.
- Manage Teamcenter updates, patches, and version upgrades.
- Track and optimize Teamcenter license usage and resource allocation.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, training materials, and user guides.
- Partner with engineering and IT teams to improve data management, workflows, and change management processes.
- Collaborate with their global IT team (U.S. and Costa Rica) for infrastructure alignment, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Stay current with PLM trends, Teamcenter developments, and competitor systems (e.g., SolidWorks PDM, Windchill, Enovia) to identify transferable skillsets and improvement opportunities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven Teamcenter Administration experience in an enterprise environment.
- Solid understanding of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) principles and system architecture.
- Strong technical troubleshooting, system maintenance, and upgrade experience.
- Experience managing multi-site or distributed environments.
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work collaboratively across international teams.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure concepts (servers, networking, security, databases).
Preferred:
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification, with practical Teamcenter administration experience.
- Hands-on experience with NX integration and/or certification in Teamcenter.
- Familiarity with Teamcenter competitor solutions (e.g., SolidWorks PDM, Windchill, Enovia).
- Experience with Teamcenter Change Management and Workflow configuration.
- Prior exposure to engineering teams within a product development environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to collaborate continuously with the U.S. and Costa Rica central teams (flexible scheduling may be required).
- Ability to operate effectively in a multi-location, multi-country PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) deployment, including managing distributed users, infrastructure, and compliance requirements.
- Onsite end-user support role.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20kg of computer equipment.
