Tax Consultant

About the position

A financial services practice is seeking a qualified and experienced Tax Consultant to join their team. The successful candidate will assist private clients and high-net-worth individuals with their tax requirements, including tax compliance, SARS liaison, and foreign tax clearance applications. The candidate should have strong knowledge of South African tax legislation and experience working with SARS eFiling.

Experience Requirements:

• Registered Tax Practitioner
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3 - 5 years relevant Tax Compliance experience
• Prior experience liaising with SARS
• Strong technical knowledge of Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, and SARS regulations
• Registered member of SAIT
• Key Responsibilities:
• Calculate provisional tax payments and complete IRP6 returns
• Liaise with SARS regarding tax queries and foreign tax clearance applications
• Submit individual tax returns and manage tax emigration administration
• Check assessments and calculate tax liabilities or refunds
• Ensure compliance with relevant tax legislation and SARS regulations
• Stay updated on changes to tax legislation and SARS eFiling
• Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and procedures
