Tax Compliance Officer

Description/Synopsis:

A boutique tax consulting firm is looking for a driven Tax Compliance Officer to join their expanding team. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home 3 days a week while providing hands-on experience with individual tax clients.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organised, and experienced in navigating SARS procedures and tax regulations. You will ensure clients remain fully compliant, manage tax calculations, audits, disputes, and serve as a trusted point of contact for individual tax matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to grow their career with a supportive and collaborative team.

 



Minimum Requirements:

• BCom degree in Finance or Tax – mandatory
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in tax compliance, preferably with individual tax clients
• Strong knowledge of SARS procedures and tax regulations
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Tax Practitioner certification beneficial but not required
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in MS Office and tax compliance software

Main Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit Individual Tax and Provisional Tax calculations for clients
• Manage SARS audits, disputes, and complaints efficiently
• Ensure full tax compliance for all clients
• Manage daily email correspondence and maintain the client database
• Serve as the primary point of contact for client tax queries
• Attend SARS appointments as required
• Provide other related tax services as needed
