About the position

My client a Audit and Accounting firm in Cape Town has an exciting new vacancy for a Tax Compliance Officer.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Completion and submission of individual ITR12 & IRP6 tax returns for a client base allocated to you.
- Review of assessments as issued by SARS to confirm accuracy or to identify need for a dispute.
- Attend to uploading of supporting documents to SARS in response to notifications issued.
- Preparation and submission of disputes or appeals to SARS, as well as following up on the status of submissions made to SARS.
- Prepare client billings for your client base within the monthly deadlines set.
- Attend to requests from SARS on queries relating to our clients.
- Comply with all internal deadlines set.
- Maintaining an up to date knowledge of tax amendments and legislation.
- Apply for tax clearance certificates.
- Assisting with client queries immediately.
- Assisting Directors, managers & clerks with any tax related matters as assigned to you.

Qualifications:
- Tax or other relavant qualification would be preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a tax compliance enviroment.
- Workable knowledge and proven application of relevant tax legislation and regulation.
- Experience working with Greatsoft advantageous.
- Computer literacy on MS Office.

Requirements:
- Passion for taxation and taxation related matters,
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Professional communication with clients and the maintaining of sound client relations.
- Attention to detail.
- Work independently but also work well as part of a team.
- Strong administration skills.
- Respect for an open plan office enviroment.
- Strive to achieve yearly KPI.
- Billing clients with Director approval.
- Liaison with clients and management.
- Follow up and finalisation of disputes as initiated with SARS.
- Maintain sound administrative control over deadlines for disputes and other SARS submissions to ensure all correspondence addressed within prescribed time frame.
- Experienced in Greatsoft and Ms office.
