TAX COMPLIANCE OFFICER (INDIVIDUALS AND TRUSTS)
My client a large international audit and accounting firm in Cape Town has an exciting new vacancy for a Tax Compliance Officer (Individuals and Trusts).
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Obtain and collate tax related information from clients and third parties in order to complete the following returns:
- ITR12
- IT12T
- IRP6, 1st, 2nd and 3rd
- Preparation of ITR12, IT12T and IRP6 returns
- Preparation of tax computations
- Adherence to Business quality control manual and checklist when preparing returns for Director review
- Submit tax returns
- Checking and reconciliation of assessments
- Attend to all related queries and SARS objections and appeals (i.e. NOO, NOA, ADR1)
- Apply for tax clearance certificates (Good Standing, Foreign Investment & Tender)
- Registration of clients for Income Tax (IT77)
- Registration of clients for VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, WCA, etc.
- Perform EMP501 reconciliations
- Daily recording of time on GreatSoft - manage productivity by achieving the agreed productive hours
- Strive to achieve yearly KPI
- Billing clients with Director approval
- Liaison with clients and management
- Adherence to the profession's confidentiality requirements
- Adherence to the firm's ethics and independence policies
- Guarding the integrity of the practice administration system
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum required qualification Grade 12/Matric
- Tax or other relevant qualification
- At least 3 years relevant tax compliance experience
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in an Accounting or Auditing environment will be beneficial
- Workable knowledge and proven application of relevant tax legislation and regulations
- Computer literacy (MS Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience working with GreatSoft would be advantageous
REQUIREMENTS
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and targets set
- Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of the Income Tax Act and Tax Administration Act
- Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle
