About the position
Reporting to the Financial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for various technically oriented finance and tax related project deliverables, compiling reporting packs and annual financial statements; direct tax returns and general tax administration as well as optimising the use of the ERP system within the finance department. You will assist the Finance Manager in the management of all areas of the finance department.
Responsibilities include:
IFRS Reporting:
- Preparing monthly general journals
- Preparing monthly income and deferred tax journals
- Assisting with quarterly, half year and year-end deliverables (including Board Reporting)
- Preparing subsidiary statutory financial statements
Budgets/Forecasts:
- Preparing balance sheet for forecasts and budget
- Preparing the budgeted cashflow statement
- Preparing the cash flow forecast
Tax Reporting & Administration:
- Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the Wear & Tear register
- Reviewing all tax schedules
- Preparing provisional tax calculations for all SA entities
- Preparing responses to SARS tax queries
- Reconciling tax GL accounts
- Maintaining all SA Group tax opinions
- Maintaining E-filing profile
- Preparing tax returns for all SA entities
- Maintaining overall tax compliance in Group (VAT, PAYE, Income tax)
