About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer III to join their Server and Storage - Operations team. This is a senior-level (L3) role responsible for engineering, automating, and optimising hybrid cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AWS, Ansible, Terraform, and server/storage solutions, with a proven ability to drive automation and transformation initiatives across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and automate hybrid cloud infrastructure to support enterprise-scale systems.
- Implement and maintain solutions leveraging AWS, Ansible, Terraform, and Git.
- Manage and optimise Windows and Linux server environments as well as storage platforms.
- Collaborate with architecture, development, and operations teams to deliver scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure solutions.
- Drive automation-first approaches, reducing manual effort and improving operational efficiency.
- Lead hybrid cloud transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT strategy.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid environments.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and skills development.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and systems.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, and automation.
- Proven track record in delivering and supporting large-scale hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong experience with server and storage solutions, including performance tuning and capacity management.
Core Skills
- Cloud: AWS (preferred), with exposure to hybrid cloud deployments.
- Automation & IaC: Ansible (must-have), Terraform, Git.
- Scripting & Development: Python, PowerShell, Bash.
- Virtualisation: VMware.
- Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux.
- Storage: Enterprise storage administration and optimisation.
