Job Title: Systems Business Analyst - VAS & Cellular

Introduction:
A leading retail organisation is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Systems Business Analyst to join their Technology team, supporting the growing Financial Services, VAS, and Cellular business areas. This is a key role focused on enabling business and technology alignment, driving the evolution of FinTech capabilities, and ensuring operational excellence through effective systems integration, process optimisation, and ongoing business support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between the VAS & Cellular business units, Systems Teams, and third-party providers to gather, document, and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Analyse existing systems and business processes to identify areas for improvement, innovation, or simplification.
- Lead the documentation of BRDs/BRSs and functional requirements to support new and existing digital solutions.
- Support testing processes, including UAT planning, execution, defect management, and quality assurance.
- Participate in the design and delivery of systems integration projects across internal and external platforms.
- Develop rollout, communication, and training plans in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders.
- Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of systems post-implementation, supporting BAU operations.
- Monitor software and hardware lifecycles and contribute to the evaluation of new tools or technologies.
- Facilitate structured stakeholder engagement and support cross-functional project delivery teams.
Experience and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in business/systems analysis, ideally in apparel retail, financial services, or telco environments.
- At least 3 years' experience working on FinTech, VAS, or cellular service platforms.
- Experience with business process optimisation, systems documentation, testing coordination, and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency with modelling techniques (UML, BPMN), and tools such as SQL, MS Suite, JIRA, Confluence, and testing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of systems architecture and integration, particularly in ERP and non-ERP environments.
Qualifications:
- Matric / Grade 12 essential
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Analysis, or similar field (Degree or Higher National Diploma)
- Project Management certification (advantageous)
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Familiarity with BABOK and PMBOK frameworks
- Experience working with SaaS platforms and cloud-based solutions
- Ability to manage change control processes and support cross-team communication
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong documentation and presentation abilities
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
