About the position
A boutique investment house in Johannesburg is looking for a Junior Network Administrator to look after its Windows-based network, its servers and its end users. You work remotely day to day, and you are in the office regularly - particularly for anything that has to be fixed with hands on the equipment. That means your own reliable transport and a valid driver's licence are not negotiable. The core requirement is current, hands-on experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy. That part cannot be trained from a standing start, and it is what will be tested. Around it you will need roughly two to three years in IT support, desktop support or network and infrastructure support, working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN, and general network troubleshooting. A+, N+ or the equivalent is expected; an IT diploma, certificate or degree is welcome but not required. The IT function is small and you work remotely, so it suits someone who takes ownership of an issue and works to their own discipline rather than waiting to be asked. In return the growth is real - structured training and upskilling across networking, systems administration and cloud technologies.
Desired Skills:
- Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Group Policy
- DNS
- Dhcp
Desired Work Experience:
- 2 to 5 years Financial Advisory & Consulting Service
- 2 to 5 years Systems / Network Administration
Desired Qualification Level:
- Certificate
About The Employer:
A boutique investment house based in Johannesburg, running a small Windows-based environment and a small internal IT function with room to grow into networking, systems administration and cloud.
