About the position
A multi-company industrial group - six businesses, 650 employees and sites across the country - is looking for a hands-on Network and System Administrator to act as team lead for IT. The role is group-wide rather than single-site. You report to the Group IT Manager in a team of four supporting all six companies, and you share ownership of the infrastructure the group runs on. You are also the senior escalation point for end-user support - the desktop, application and connectivity problems first line cannot resolve. You will need four to six years of hands-on infrastructure experience across servers, networking and systems support, with Windows Server and Active Directory administration, virtualisation on Hyper-V or VMware, and Microsoft 365, Exchange Online and Entra ID. What counts most is having owned infrastructure across more than one site or business, and having been the person others escalate to. The group runs MikroTik routers and firewalls; experience with them is useful rather than required. Certifications and formal qualifications are not a requirement - demonstrated hands-on ability is what matters. The package starts at R50 000 a month, total cost to company including benefits, and is negotiable.

About The Employer:
An established multi-company industrial group with its head office in Germiston, trading across refrigeration, packaging, tools, hydraulics and the automotive sector, with sites nationally. IT is run centrally from head office for all six businesses.
