About the position

Introduction
Our client is a forward-thinking organization dedicated to excellence in IT operations and infrastructure management. They are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to join their team and lead the management of their Microsoft Server environments as well as their modern cloud platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Server Infrastructure (versions 2016 through 2025), along with proven expertise in managing Windows servers within a Hyper-V Failover Cluster environment. In addition, the candidate must have a deep understanding of Microsoft 365 modern offerings and Azure services. This role involves overseeing critical server operations, managing cloud-based environments, and driving continuous improvement in the companies IT infrastructure.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Server Management: Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft Server infrastructures (2016-2025), ensuring reliable and secure operations.
  • Cluster Administration: Manage and troubleshoot Hyper-V Failover Clusters, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Cloud & Modern Workplace Solutions: Deploy, manage, and optimize Microsoft 365 and Azure solutions, integrating cloud capabilities with on-premises infrastructure.
  • System Optimization: Perform regular performance tuning, patch management, and updates to keep systems running at peak efficiency.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols, backup solutions, and compliance standards across all server and cloud environments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to plan, implement, and support IT projects, infrastructure upgrades, and cloud migrations.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

 
Desired Experience & Qualification
Experience: Extensive experience with Windows Server environments, specifically Microsoft Server Infrastructure versions 2016 through 2025.
 
Technical Expertise:

  • Proven expertise in managing Hyper-V Failover Clusters and virtualization technologies.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft 365 modern offerings and Azure cloud services, including administration, deployment, and integration with on-premises systems.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell) to streamline administrative tasks.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance metrics for both Windows server environments and cloud infrastructures.
  • VMware Knowledge: Experience with VMware technologies is a plus and will be beneficial in the company diverse virtualized environment.

 
Microsoft Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
  • Focus: Administration of on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based Windows Server environments.
  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Work Administrator Expert
  • Focus: Managing Microsoft 365 services, modern workplace productivity tools, and collaboration solutions.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Focus: Deploying, monitoring, and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to computers, storage, network, and security.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Focus: Designing and implementing solutions on Azure, which is beneficial for candidates involved in high-level cloud infrastructure planning.
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • Focus: Evaluating, planning, migrating, deploying, and managing Microsoft 365 services and solutions for an enterprise environment.
