Exciting opportunity to join our Client in the e-commerce health industry for a Supply Chain Specialist, remote role.
Our client is in search of a Supply Chain Specialist with a dedicated focus on supporting International platforms-specifically Amazon Canada (CA) and Amazon UK etc. In this role, you will provide comprehensive support to ensure efficient inventory management across these marketplaces. Your responsibilities will include assisting in inventory control, coordinating with suppliers, analysing procurement data, and maintaining accurate records. You will collaborate closely with the Inventory Manager and other team members to optimise inventory levels, track supplier performance, and contribute to the overall success of the department. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
The role is crucial in maintaining a balance between having enough inventory to meet customer demand and minimising carrying costs and inventory obsolescence.
Responsibilities
- Forecasting and planning:
- Utilising historical data, market trends, and other factors to forecast future demand and plan inventory accordingly.
- Inventory:
- Implementing systems and processes to accurately track inventory movements, including receiving, storage, and distribution
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimise inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock while minimising excess
- Analysing inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, such as reducing carrying costs or improving inventory turnover
- Implementing controls to prevent shrinkage, theft, or damage to inventory, such as security measures or quality checks
- Supplier Management:
- Collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials or products, negotiating contracts, and resolving any issues that may arise
- Inventory:
- Implementing systems and processes to accurately track inventory movements, including receiving, storage, and distribution
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimise inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock while minimising excess
- Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Working closely with other departments, such as purchasing, sales, and logistics, to coordinate inventory-related activities and ensure alignment with overall business objectives
- Logistics and Transportation:
- Coordinating the movement of goods through various transportation modes (e.g., trucking, shipping, air freight) to ensure timely delivery to customers while minimising transportation costs
- Team management:
- Provide day-to-day oversight and support for direct reports, ensuring tasks are clearly assigned, tracked, and completed on time
- Conduct regular check-ins to align on priorities, address blockers, and provide feedback on performance and development
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture, encouraging proactive communication and continuous improvement
- Monitor individual and team performance, setting clear expectations and KPIs aligned with departmental goals
Requirements:
- Matric or equivalent (additional education or certification in supply chain management or related field is a plus)
- Minimum 2 years Supply Chain experience
- Minimum 1 year experience leading a team
- Importing and exporting knowledge/experience is beneficial.
- Proven experience in inventory management, sourcing, or related administrative roles.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data analysis.
- Proficiency in using Google sheets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Basic understanding of inventory control principles and procurement processes.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Working hours - 10h00 to 19h00
