Supply Chain Manager (Food & Beverages, Wholesale)
Location: Midrand
Our client a leading food and Beverages business is seeking a strategic Supply Chain Manager to join their high growth environment.
Role Description:
The Supply Chain Manager manages all aspects of the organization's supply chain management and operations, including procurement, warehousing, logistics, vendor relations, internal sales. Develops and implements plans for managing supply chain processes for warehouse, procurement and logistics operations. Oversees demand forecasting, supply planning, and procurement to ensure resource requirements are satisfied. Communicates with executives regarding business needs to secure resources needed to satisfy customer demands and ensure delivery and/or implementation.
KPI's:
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities to streamline process and improve accuracy and efficiency within operations.
- Assist logistics process for the development of new products, inventory maintenance, manufacturing, shipment and delivery, and returns on products.
- Schedule and execute periodic evaluations to ensure vendors are adhering to pricing contracts and agreements.
- Develop effective communication and processes with the transportation and logistics vendors.
- Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to help management understand the logistics perspective.
- Manage current and long-term forecast projections to drive production and inventory planning goals.
- Read and comprehend legal documents, such as contracts or import/export agreements.
- Managing Inventory levels to minimize production risk while maximizing inventory turns.
- Identifying and driving adoption of Key Performance Indicators as they apply to Supply Chain success, as well as providing input to KPIs as they apply to Manufacturing success.
- Management of supplier relationships and development of partnerships to ensure efficient use of resources and effective material and component supply practices.
- Monitoring open Purchase Orders and Stock Status reports and expediting order fulfillment to ensure on time delivery
- Arranging International shipments and verifying accuracy of all documentation.
- Leading the internal initiative to implement and maintain an effective and accurate physical inventory system, including ERP transaction accuracy, physical inventory events, and cycle counting as appropriate
- Other projects, assignments, and duties as required
- Solid knowledge of Supply Chain and Materials Management Systems
- Ability to interpret data and make including appropriate personnel where needed; exhibit sound and accurate judgment
- Ability to forge positive relationships and communicate effectively with all levels of management and with all departments
- Negotiate and set up new vendors and purchasing contracts when necessary.
- Manage the warehouse function including receiving of raw materials, shipping of finished goods, and organizing of both in the warehouse area.
Qualification, Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 5 plus years of experience in supply chain management, preferably operations, warehouse, manufacturing and purchasing leadership.
- Must have experience working within the food and beverage business or wholesale place within modern trade
- Ability to manage logistics of all aspects of supply chain, from product development to the shipment of finished items.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to propel the organization to decision and action while building lasting relationships with people
