Supply Chain Graduate - Internship

About the position

Leading medical distributor based in Sybrand Park, Cape Town requires a recent Graduate with a Logistics / Warehousing / Supply Chain qualification to assist in the Warehouse and Customer Service Department for a 2 year internship.  Training will be provided.
Matric is essential
Degree or 3 year Diploma is essential
Preference will be given to graduates from Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transport or similar
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Good command of the English language and clear communication is essential
Training will be provided.
Valid driver’s license with own reliable transport due to late night traveling

Due to the operation, candidate needs to be able to work after hours, night shift, on call and for stock takes – this is not negotiable
Preference will be given to male candidates
ERP System experience an advantage
Preference will be given to candidates residing in close proximity to Rondebosch, Cape Town
Preference will be given to Non-Smokers
Good computer skills (i.e., MS Office package)

DUTIES

• Receiving, packing and sending medical equipment and loan sets to various hospitals and branches 
• Handle delivery and collection of medical loan sets and medical stock from customers
• Arrange transportation :  airport and / or couriers when required
• Perform “On Call & Shift” duties i.e.: collection / receipting / delivery of stock / loan sets wherever and whenever necessary
• Checking of all instruments for functionality to ensure good working order of instruments
• Preparation of appropriate documentation to accompany medical loan sets to and from customers / hospitals
• Usages from medical loan sets to be accurately recorded and copies thereof to be given to the invoicing department
• Recording and notification of missing / broken medical instrumentation
• Follow up with hospital staff and Sales Representatives regarding broken / missing medical instrumentation and stock
• Preparation for and participating in quarterly stock takes
• Weekly stock counts
• Requisitioning of medical loan sets and implants and follow up of flight details
• Assist with the accurate recording of bookings from customers when required
• Assist with any general duties in Customer Service Department as and when required
