You've just qualified for that hard-earned CA(SA) and you're ready to move away from auditing yet you don't want to be a traditional financial accountant, you'd love to enter the world of investments.
You'll be responsible for checking and supervising the tasks required to successfully complete a NAV (Being an A Signatory). This includes checking and authorising payments, checking and approve valuations as well supervising others to ensure the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of functions like ensuring all documentation is in place for investment purchases and sales / distributions, executing investment purchase transactions, setting-up and capturing of investments on the relevant accounting system, monitoring of distributions / sales proceeds receivable and capturing of these on the relevant accounting system, preparation of accurate quarterly (pre fair market value and post fair market value) accounts (including capital statements for investors), performing weekly cash reconciliations and proper investigation and resolution of any reconciling differences, performing daily cash management, capturing daily cash movements as well as trades and updating transactions in the relevant accounting system as well as ensuring compliance with company policy and procedures, client service level agreements and internal controls.

CA(SA) or eligibility to register is essential as well as an interest in investments. You need to be able to work well under pressure, have a high level of accuracy and excellent numerical skills, this should come naturally as an Accountant. You need to be based in Cape Town as you will be required to work from the office.
