Structural Engineer

About the position

Well respected consulting engineering firm is looking for a Structural Engineer with 5 or more years experience in structural engineering design to join their team in Durban (Westville).
Requirements: 

• BSc. / BEng. / BTech. Civil or Structural Engineering degree
• Experienced in buildings-focused and / or water retaining structures Structural Engineering experience across different structural forms, construction materials, design stages and project sectors.
• Strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, combined with practical understanding of buildings and construction.
• Experience in approval, review, management, preparation and checking of well-presented design calculations, notes, reports and general correspondence.
• Conversant with design and building codes with leading industry analysis and design software.

Duties include:

• Structural engineering design of projects.
• Working as part of a team to carry out hands-on design for a variety of projects, including appropriate use of technical analysis and design software packages.
• Liaising with other project members and Clients from inception to completion.
• Working closely with designers of other disciplines to produce coordinated designs.
• Managing the production of models, drawings, reports and specifications to budgets and deadlines
• Analysing, designing, specification and report writing.
