Structural Engineer

About the position

An established structural engineering consultancy in Cape Town is looking for a registered Structural Engineer (PrEng or PrTech) with a strong background in structural steel design to join their growing team. This is a key role for an engineer who can take ownership of projects and bring leadership to a small but dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage structural engineering projects independently
• Design and analyse structural steel structures using Prokon
• Support and check the work of junior and intern team members
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other consultants
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications
• Oversee site inspections and ensure compliance with design intent and standards

Requirements:

• Professionally registered with ECSA as a PrEng or PrTech
• Proven experience in structural steel design
• Proficiency in Prokon is essential
• Revit experience is beneficial (training can be provided if needed)
• Strong ability to manage projects and teams with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
