About the position
Our client is seeking a highly driven, results-oriented Account Manager with a strong hunter mentality to join our dynamic Broadcast Sales team.
This role is focused on new business development, requiring an individual who thrives on identifying opportunities, opening doors, and converting prospects into long-term customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for aggressively expanding Our client's footprint within the broadcast and media sector by acquiring new clients and growing revenue streams.
The ideal candidate is commercially astute, technically credible, and energised by the challenge of building a pipeline from the ground up. You must be comfortable operating in a competitive environment, engaging decision-makers, and driving opportunities through to closure.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the broadcast and media industry.
Build and develop a strong, sustainable sales pipeline through continuous prospecting and market engagement.
Drive the full sales cycle with a focus on new logo acquisition and revenue growth.
Engage and influence both technical stakeholders and executive decision-makers.
Develop a deep understanding of customer challenges and position tailored solutions that create value.
Collaborate with pre-sales and technical teams to craft compelling, winning proposals.
Consistently meet and exceed aggressive sales targets and performance metrics.
Maintain accurate pipeline visibility, forecasting, and reporting discipline.
Represent Our client in the market through client meetings, industry events, and vendor engagements.
Undertake local and international travel to support business development initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
Academic & Professional Qualifications
Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrable technical knowledge.
Valid South African driver's licence and passport, with access to reliable transport.
Experience
Proven track record in new business sales ("hunter" role) within technical or capital equipment environments.
Demonstrated success in consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets.
Experience in the broadcast, media, or adjacent technology sectors is strongly preferred.
Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
Exposure to tender processes and public sector procurement is advantageous.
Existing industry relationships are beneficial but not required-ability to build new relationships from scratch is critical.
Technical Knowledge
Broadcast Fundamentals: Working knowledge of playout systems, signal chains, live production environments, and encoding/decoding workflows.
Media Technologies: Familiarity with IP-based production, media networking, and OTT platforms.
Industry Awareness: Understanding of trends such as cloud media infrastructure and software-defined broadcast solutions.
