Stores Controller - Mining Industry Middelburg Please read complete spec for details/ requirements for this position Mining Company outside Middelburg is seeking an experienced stores controller to join their growing and fast paced team To ensure that daily tasks are performed efficiently to meet production targets. Complying with the relevant legislation, provided policies and procedures and best practise principles. Ensures that quality and quantity of work is a priority. The main purpose of this position is to support the Production Manager by controlling the flow of stock Duties & Responsibilities Maintaining proper records relating to the receipt and issue of consumables, supplies, tools, and equipment. Maintaining the stock registers, entering therein all receipts, issues and balance of consumables, supplies, tools, and equipment, and conducting physical verification. Monitor consumables to ensure it is replenished and always available for production to continue. Ensure that all stock received is as per Delivery Note and Purchase Order. Ensure that stock bins and locations are marked. Visual inspection of vehicle, mobile cranes, and forklift checklists. Report any faults to management. Ensure that equipment is serviced and maintained regularly. Preventing unauthorized entrance into the Stores area. keeping stock records.
1. Issuing of Items
Issuing of all materials including hazardous chemicals and other materials used for production.
Issuing of Diesel is for the exclusive use of the company, completion of Diesel Issue Register.
Handling of Project specific tasks, completion of Job Movement Register.
Maintain inventory for and proper storage of Hazardous Chemical Substances as required.
Receive, control, and submit completed inspection checklists (vehicles, trucks, forklifts, tractors, trailers, mobile cranes, and overhead cranes) to H&S weekly.
Implement and perform periodic and annual stock counts.
Inventory: Consumables and Supplies, maintain minimum re-order level according to company policy.
Inventory: Tools and Equipment, marked by engraving or hard stamped and inspection and completion of Inspection Registers as per company policy.
Replacement of items: Abuse, report to Management, determine cost implication to restore or replace, issue NCR, liaise with HR for deduction, complete Broken Tool Register and place into
Maintenance if repairable.

Assist Finance with annual asset verification.
Daily cycle count conducted as per schedule.
Investigate variances from stock take and report to Management.
Implement preventative measures to prevent variances re-occurring.
Generate Consumables and submit to Procurement (authorisation required from Management).
Consult with Procurement on stock issues and receipts.
Correspondence and supporting documents (tax invoices, credit notes etc.) must be submitted to Procurement daily.
Facilitate Goods Returned and consult with Procurement continuously on these items.
Check and/ or count all tools, equipment, consumables, supplies and job spares within 48 hours from receiving time so that changes or corrections can be made as soon as possible if required.
The Stores controller or assistant must collect all PO's daily to ensure items delivered can be verified against the corresponding documentation.
All quantity and quality checks are in place when receiving stock.
Assist with the loading and/or offloading of stock or deliveries with Forklifts or Overhead Cranes.
Unloading containers and other shipments received from Customers and/or Suppliers following company procedures and ensure that Quality Management standards are always adhered to.
Escalating issues that cannot be processed to Management.
Ensure materials are safely guarded and meet all Health and Safety aspects.
Store all items to designated stores in a secure manner.
Able to apply and enforce safe stacking and storage practices throughout the Stores' areas of responsibility.
Proactively maintain a clean and organised stores environment.
Organise and maintains inventory for efficient material and handling, maintains labelling system on each stock item, manually stocks inventory with stock items received and returned.
The Consumables Store is cleaned by the Stores Assistant every Friday by sweeping the floors, washing the floors, re-arranging tools, equipment, consumables, and supplies for the next week.
Stores Controller responsible to check this.
Monitor the temperature/humidity of the Stores daily.
Sorting, monitoring, and listing of the Bolts, Paint, Gas and Oil Store. This information to be provided to the estimation and planning department.
Keeping the stores neat, clean, and tidy always.
Identifying and implementing improvements to the Stores processes.
Maintains the company's Health and Safety, Housekeeping and Quality Standards.
Ensure that the housekeeping within the area of your control is maintained and improved continuously.
