General Summary and purpose:
The Storeman is an important link in the company supply chain for maintaining standards of delivery to our customers. Our customers rely on our accuracy to ensure their production runs efficiently and so our approach to stores activity is focused on making good internal decisions and always promoting accuracy from our team. The Storeman is to administer, control and maintain accurate stock levels of the store; and to ensure that the administrative system is always well maintained and follow company policies. The Storeman is responsible for ensuring that goods received into or sent out from the Company, are in good condition and correspond with the correct paperwork to ensure accurate stocks/records are held, and customer deliveries are dispatched on a correct and first-time basis.

CORE FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Goods receiving: Receive goods into the company using the appropriate software. Ensuring all paperwork is correct and goods received are in good order, assisting admin staff to ensure that accurate stocks are held on site. Check for damaged or missing items against delivery note, move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely in their allocated space and labelled correctly.
- Goods dispatched: Ensure that customer orders are picked daily, packed securely, labelled correctly, and dispatched accurately using the appropriate software. Then to load these orders onto the relevant vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, in order to ensure that deliveries are made to the customer on a correct and first-time basis.
- Technicians: Issue and return stock to technicians, as per job card, and record issued stock on the computer system.
- Stock Takes: Support our PI team by carrying out physical stock checks when necessary and to maintain a high standard of general housekeeping within the store.
- Housekeeping: Maintain the store and site to a safe and clean standard to ensure ease of availability of stock. To keep the site clean and tidy to ensure safe working practices and to allow the site to function efficiently and in compliance with safety legislation.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Reports directly to the Stores Supervisor and Assistant Spares Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES:
- Candidates should be of a mature nature and must be able to work and perform under pressure.
- Technical knowledge/experience/qualifications are essential.
- Work as part of a team to ensure smooth operation daily.
- Work collaboratively and engage with key Stakeholders to achieve specific targets.
- Ability of the efficient management of stocks, whether picking orders or locating stock within the warehouse.
- The ability to communicate at all levels is extremely important, as is the ability to work as part of a team to enhance our service to our customers.
- Enthusiasm for the task at hand.
- The ability to work in a safe and responsible manner. He/she will wear and use the correct personal protective equipment, as determined and provided by the company, and will follow company health and safety and environmental procedures, -policies and reporting guidelines.
- It may be expected of the candidate to help with other work/general tasks within the Department as and when required.
- The candidate must possess the ability to be trained and to then make use of any computer software, as designated by the company.
KPI’S FOR SENIOR STOREMAN
- Accuracy of Goods Received and Dispatched – Target: 99% accuracy in receiving and dispatching goods. Measurement: Number of errors in goods received/dispatched divided by the total number of goods received/dispatched.
- Stock Level Accuracy – Target: Maintain 98% accuracy in stock levels. Measurement: Discrepancies found during stock takes divided by the total stock items.
- Housekeeping Standards – Target: Maintain a clean and safe working environment with no safety violations. Measurement: Number of safety violations or housekeeping issues reported.
- Efficiency in Stock Takes – Target: Complete stock takes within the allocated time frame with minimal discrepancies. Measurement: Time taken to complete stock takes and number of discrepancies found.
- Compliance with Health and Safety Regulations – Target: Zero incidents of noncompliance with health and safety regulations. Measurement: Number of health and safety incidents or violations.
- System and Administrative Accuracy – Target: 100% accuracy in maintaining administrative systems and records. Measurement: Number of errors found in administrative records.
- Technician Support – Target: 95% of stock issued and returned to technicians accurately and on time. - Measurement: Number of errors in stock issued/returned divided by the total number of transactions.
HOURS OF WORK AND SALARY PACKAGE:
- Working hours: 07h30 to 16h30 (Monday to Friday). Also to assist with regular stock counts after hours and over some weekends.
- Lunch: 30 minutes daily, as well as 2 fifteen-minute tea-/smoke breaks at 10h00 and 14h00 respectively.
- Basic Salary: R15K – R20K per month (to be agreed and negotiated, depending on experience, etc.).
- Probation period: 3 months. Benefits listed below only effective after successful completion of the probation period.

- Pension fund: Contribution by the company of 5% and 2% by the employee.
- Life Insurance Cover: equivalent to 2 years annual salary.
- Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus, based on performance.
- 15 Days Annual leave increasing to 20 Days after year 5 of employment.
