About the position

Storeman will be responsible for the receiving, storing, and dispatching of goods in a warehouse or storage facility. The duties will include maintaining accurate inventory, managing stock levels, and ensuring the safe and efficient handling of goods. A storeman will also play a key role in receiving and dispatching shipments, and may operate machinery like forklifts to move materials.

Receiving and Handling Goods:

• Receiving incoming shipments and verifying them against purchase orders or packing slips.
• Checking for damaged or faulty goods and reporting discrepancies.
• Unloading delivery vehicles and unpacking items.
• Recording received items and updating inventory records.
• Storing goods in designated locations within the warehouse.

Inventory Management:

• Maintaining accurate records of stock levels and locations.
• Conducting regular stocktakes to verify inventory accuracy.
• Identifying and reporting low stock levels or discrepancies.
• Organizing and optimizing storage space within the warehouse.

Dispatching and Packing:

• Picking items from shelves based on order requests.
• Packing and preparing items for shipment.
• Loading items onto delivery vehicles.
• Ensuring proper labeling and documentation for outgoing shipments.

General Responsibilities:

• Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move goods.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
• Coordinating with other departments, such as shipping and logistics.
• May also be involved in maintaining equipment, such as forklifts.

About The Employer:

Our client based in Maitland is looking to acquire an experienced Storeman that will be based at one of their Warehouses in Maitland. The successful candidate should possesses the following skills and experience:

- Must be physically strong
- Must have atleast 2-5 yeras working experience as a Storeman
