About the position
My client (FMCG) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Stock Controller - Oil Filling, based in the West Rand area.
Job Purpose:
To supervise and ensure effective administration of production data, reports and recording systems in the performance of production sections/plant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
Finished Goods Stock Control (Quality and Quantity)
- Ensure proper stock control of all finished goods and CHEP pallets in BP01 Randfontein
- Manage, record and track quality in an appropriate and timely manner
- Ensure that production declared corresponds with Finished Goods on the floor
- Conduct daily stock count and reconciliations, and close out variances within 24 hrs
- Conduct weekly mass balance and close out variances within 24hrs
- Conduct monthly stock take and month end closure accurately and close out variances within 24hrs
- Investigate anomalies as soon as they are identified
- Address any queries and problems and proactively respond to changing conditions and requirements
Finished Goods Stock Movement
- Attend daily Packaging Plants meetings for update on production plan
- Send the number of loads and CHEP pallets Stock On Hand (SOH) daily to superiors before 08h00
- Maintain CHEP pallets stock levels and request replenishment from DC timeously
- Create Stock Transfer Orders (STOs) for shunting and communicate with the Distribution Centre (DC) personnel on loading
- Monitor materials wastage, record, and control accordingly
- Follow through SAP stock movement daily from plant to DC
- Record and update production data, information and maintain database
- Calculating factors (e.g., quantities, materials used, worker/department rates)
- Investigate stock take variances within 24hrs and provide reasons and corrective actions
- Adhere to prescribed procedures, and verify information with data on the system
Reporting and Filling
- Track finished goods stock in conjunction with DC, daily.
- Compile material waste reports based on data captured, tabulated, and computed.
- Submit quarantined and rejected stock documents, daily
- Complete finished stock documentation (forms etc.) and keep record accordingly company procedure
- Complete and maintain updated working documentation on finished stock and other stock
- Compile reports on specified periods or as and when required
Supervision
- Supervise the designated area within time and budget by ensuring good housekeeping, safety, and security
- Plan, schedule, assign, inspect, record, and administrate materials timeously and within budget
- Maintain shunting truck turnaround time of 60 minutes or less time on Randfontein site
- Communicate performance expectations and discipline requirements to team members and manage team in a way that ensures productivity and compliance
- Train team members, schedule training where required and ensure that forklift licenses of forklift drivers are always valid
- Ensure compliance with SHERQFS processes and standards
- Inform team members of any changes that affect them, timeously (policies, procedures, targets)
Customer Support
- Liaise with internal customers/stakeholders on planning and performance, constantly
- Provide analytical and administrative stock related information to internal customers, to inform decision making
Continuous Improvement
- Identify problems and trends in finished stock control, and other efficiencies and make recommendations for improvement
- Initiate and implement improvement initiatives as approved by management
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders during implementation of plant wide improvements
QUALIFYING ATTRIBUTES:
Qualifications
- Matric Certificate (NQF 4/10)
- Certificate in stock/inventory management is preferred
Experience
- 1 year production experience, minimum 2 years stock handling experience
- FMCG factory environment experience would be advantageous
Knowledge
- Production process flow (from input to output)
- Product and packaging quality
- Procedures: Stock Management, Quality, Food Safety, Environment, Health & Safety, Maintenance, Disciplinary Code and Policy Procedure, Database management systems, and manipulation
- Relevant SAP transactions

Working Conditions:
- Candidates will be required to work shifts in accordance with operational requirements
On Offer:
- Range of between R84,500,00 - R 136500,00 Total Cost to company per Annum (Dependent on various factors including current earnings)
- Total cost To Company is inclusive of a 13th Cheque
