Stock Controller

About the position

A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Stock Controller to manage packaging and consumable stock movements within a busy production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for stock reconciliations, cycle counts, variance investigations, warehouse transfers, system transactions, and month-end stock reporting. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to maintain accurate stock records while working closely with production, warehouse, procurement, and finance teams.
Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 qualification.
• 2-3 years' manufacturing experience.
• 2-3 years' stock control experience.
• Solid stock reconciliation and variance investigation experience.
• Working knowledge of Sage Pastel/Sage.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain accurate packaging and consumable stock levels.
• Perform daily stock counts and reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve stock variances.
• Capture and process stock transactions on Sage.
• Manage inter-branch transfers (IBTs) and warehouse movements.
• Conduct cycle counts and spot checks.
• Assist with month-end stock counts and reporting.
• Prepare stock loss and gain analyses.
• Ensure system stock aligns with physical stock holdings.
