About the position
An experienced Stock Accountant is required for an FMCG Manufacturing company.
The incumbent will be focussed on cost tracking, stock control, reporting, and process improvement.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with at least two years of cost accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost systems
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in FMCG manufacturing, BOM maintenance, and analytical skills
- Ability to maintain diplomacy, creativity, and proactive problem-solving
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and handle stress well
Responsibilities:
- Detailed product cost tracking and assisting managers to reduce costs
- Analysis of management reports
- Identifying inefficiencies and implementing automation to improve business processes
- Supporting budget preparation and developing people within the organisation
- Tracking cost savings and detailed costing accuracy
- Maintaining inventory control and management reporting
- Supporting continuous improvement through project involvement
- Contributing to food safety, quality, and organisational culture
Costing and Stock Management:
- Perform detailed cost tracking including BOM, ratios, and standard losses
- Calculate finished goods costs and resource allocations
- Manage daily stock reconciliation, intercompany invoicing, and stock adjustments
- Support stock counts, investigate variances, and prepare month-end stock reports
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on stock, costs, and variances
- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies
- Present monthly P&L reports and track cost savings
- Assist with ad hoc projects and annual budget planning
