SQC Inspector- PFG Building Glass (Springs) at PG Group

About the position

PFG is the leading manufacturer of float glass in Southern Africa, as well as laminated glass, mirrors, and sealant products. The company produces 260 000 tons of float glass products per annum, supplying into both domestic and international building and automotive industries.

Main job purpose

Wash and inspect the finished product to ensure that outgoing glass meets the requirements specified by the respective customers.

Main Objective

• Inspection of glass as per instruction, assist with customer returns and suspect glass from stock to to ensure that the product is in line with internal specification.

• Cut samples to identify non - conforming products or defective products during inspection to ensure that the product is in line with internal specification.

• Report defective products to the SQC Coordinators to analyse defects so that corrective actions should be taken.

• Capture glass inspection results for record keeping purposes/ history.

• Inform SQC Coordinators/ Management of all non - conforming products and quality related issues for acceptance or non acceptance.

• Comply to SHERQ standards and maintain good housekeeping to avoid injuries and damage to company property

Critical job requirements

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Total Quality Management Certificate
• A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.

Knowledge

• Knowledge of basic computer skill and programmes
• Knowledge of glass handling and closing/strapping of pallets
• Understanding OHS ACT

Experience

• 1- 2 Years Experience in a Quality Control and Manufacturing Environment
