About the position

To provide integrated speech and language therapy services within a progressive private school environment, supporting early identification, intervention, and ongoing development of learners, while simultaneously operating an independent private practice from purpose-designed facilities on the school campus.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
  • 5 years relevant clinical experience working with children
  • Strong experience in early childhood and Foundation Phase language development
  • Competence in assessment, diagnosis, intervention planning, and progress reporting
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to run an independent private practice on site
Key Performance Areas:

  • Provide speech and language therapy services to learners within the school environment
  • Conduct assessments, screenings, and early identification of speech, language, and communication needs
  • Deliver individual and small-group interventions aligned to learner needs and developmental milestones
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, learning support staff, and families to embed support into daily learning
  • Contribute to preventative, inclusive support models rather than isolated pull-out therapy
  • Support language development within Learning Hubs and enquiry-based learning environments
  • Educate and guide parents and educators through practical strategies and feedback
  • Establish and manage an independent therapy practice operating from the school campus
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, reports, and professional documentation
