About the position

SENTECH Risk and Compliance department is looking for Specialist Risk and Compliance to develop, identify, evaluate and monitor compliance risks and ensure mitigation strategies are in line with the SENTECH Enterprise Risk Management Framework as well as to ensure compliance with all applicable legislations. The incumbent is responsible for fostering a culture of compliance within the organization.

Minimum requirements

Qualifications:
?Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Economics, Law and Certificate in Compliance
Management.
?Professional accreditation as a Compliance Practitioner with the Compliance Institute of South Africa (CPrac).

Experience:
?7 or more years experience in risk and compliance management.
?Experience within the telecommunications industry will be an added advantage.
?Experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks, compliance policies, and procedures.
?Experience in designing and delivering comprehensive training programs on risk and compliance for employees at all levels.
?Experience in collaborating with internal audit teams to conduct internal audit investigations, and compliance reviews.

Knowledge:
?In-depth knowledge of relevant industry regulations, laws, and standards in South Africa, including but not limited to the Electronic Communications Act, the Consumer Protection Act, and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
?Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to risk management and compliance
?Knowledge of risk management principles and compliance systems and tools.
?Excellent understanding of Compliance Management Principles.
Knowledge of compliance-related legislation.
?Knowledge of Business and Legal Principles and Interpretation.
?Strong ability to interpret statutes/ law.
?Knowledge of the Public Financial Management Act (PFMA), National Treasury regulations and public sector legislative requirements.
?Knowledge of best practices in corporate governance, internal controls, and compliance management systems.
?Familiarity with international standards such as ISO 31000, ISO 19600, the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) Framework and King Code on Governance.
?Understanding of telecommunications industry trends, technologies, and regulatory developments.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREA's
Compliance
?Develop and implement a compliance monitoring plan using industry accepted standards, methodologies and tools.
?Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and ensure SENTECH's compliance with relevant laws and standards.
?Develop and implement compliance programs and policies to mitigate potential risks and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory obligations.
?Conduct regular compliance audits and reviews to identify gaps and develop action plans for remediation.
?Scan the Regulatory Universe for new and emerging legislation, regulation that may impact SENTECH.
?Ensure compliance with applicable Legislative requirements, King IV, PFMA and Treasury Regulations, PPPFA, OHSA etc and other internal policies.
?Prepare monthly and quarterly compliance reports to relevant stakeholders.
?Prepare monthly IT risk reports.
?Communicate and train employees on SENTECH's policies and procedures to promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness.
?Provide ongoing education and guidance to employees on regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices to ensure a thorough understanding of compliance obligations.
Fraud Prevention and Awareness
?Develop and Implement the Fraud Prevention Plan, annually, along with the Internal Audit team.
?Assist in planning and driving fraud awareness workshops.
?Collaborate with the Internal Audit team to develop, maintain and monitor the fraud prevention plan through fraud awareness and alignment to fraud policies.
Risk Management
?Assist with the implementation of the Risk Management processes, Framework, Methodology throughout SENTECH.
?Embed and update risk management strategies in accordance with best practice standard and relevant legislation.
?Identify risks in the systems and risk exposures in SENTECH business processes through the use of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques.
?Maintain and review the Risk Register annually to include emerging risks in the risk profile of SENTECH.
?Ensure that all employees are aware of the risk management and compliance policies and procedures of SENTECH.

Business Continuity Management
?Conduct regular drills to test the effectiveness of BCM plans.
?Develop and maintain comprehensive Business Continuity Management (BCM) policies and procedures that are aligned to industry standards and regulations.
?Assist in the development of business impact analysis (BIA) to determine the potential impacts of disruptions on business processes, resources and stakeholders.
?Assist in developing and maintaining BCM plans to ensure continuation of operations both during and after disruptions.

Reporting
?Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to senior management, the board of directors, and regulatory authorities, highlighting key compliance metrics, issues, and trends.
?Verify that all regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated.
?Represent SENTECH in regulatory discussions, hearings, and industry forums to advocate for the company's interests and ensure compliance with regulatory expectations where applicable.
?Liaise with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other external stakeholders to stay informed about regulatory developments and industry best practices, where applicable
