About the position
Role Purpose
Leverage exceptional business knowledge & contextual understanding together with deep learning experience (all learning types e.g. digital, blended, augmented, f2f), learning technologies, learning platform and instructional design expertise to provide consulting, advisory & support for the design and implementation of commercially relevant learning architecture and thereafter take accountability for translating learning architecture into competitive, well designed, human centered learning experiences (end to end) that deliver tangible business impact.
Accountabilities: Learning Architecture & Experience Design
- Provide strategic learning experience design (augmented, social, blended etc.) consulting to the business and learning community for and across learning portfolios; effectively translating business strategy into learning implications for and across portfolios (and levels of the organisation).
- Partner the Enterprise Learning Community and identified business SME’s to translate learning needs into learning experience design needs, using deep business and learning design knowledge & skills to recommend the best fit learning approach.
- Provide digital learning experience solutioning and production expertise and advisory to the business
- Work with the learning community and business to deep dive into the learning portfolio requirements and design the best fit learning architecture (all learning types) to address business requirements.
- Plan and manage complex, large scale, multi-dimensional learning experience design initiatives / projects end to end (from needs analysis to implementation, continuous improvement, curation, technical development and support and change control).
- Design exceptional learning experiences (aligned to the defined learning architecture) for a portfolio and across levels within the organisation.
- Contribute to creating learning experience design and technical / digital production best practices for the organisation and beyond.
- Lead and implement the technical production of learning experiences (own and vendor where appropriate).
- Lead and implement the learner / stakeholder technical support pre-during – and post learning implementation.
- Provide input into the design and continuous improvement of enterprise learning experience design process, policy, practices, technologies and approaches.
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of learning experiences (blended & augmented) end to end – this includes then identification and delivery of human centred design for programs, learning technologies, learning platforms etc. and associated interactions, user experiences (ui/ux), look and feel / graphic design, instructional design.
- Leverage deep instructional design and behavioural science / psychology insight and expertise in recommending and designing relevant and impactful learning experiences.
- Partner with people data & analytics and employee insights teams to identify opportunities and business impact measures for
learning in key portfolios. - In addition to the Business, Partner the Culture, Enterprise Capabilities and Leadership Development centres of expertise to ensure strategic priorities are embedded in portfolio learning architecture and learning experiences embedding commercial context and impact as a way of delivering learning.
- Manage external vendors in the design of learning experiences, guiding vendors on the appropriate learning architecture and learning design quality aligned to the business requirements
- Drive a culture of continuous learning through the design of exceptional learning experiences
- Apply design thinking and participate in and across multiple multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional, engaging and unique learning experiences aligned to the delivery of one HR Book of Work.
- Lead and implement the curation of learning journeys (multiple experiences) on our digital learning platforms and delivery exceptional workforce experience through this curation (information architecture, navigability, are just 2 of many examples).
- Be accountable for delivering business impact through the design and delivery of exceptional learning experiences.
- Bring people strategy & learning architecture (End to End) to life through exceptional learning experience design that enables the attraction and retention of key talent.
- Partner the enterprise learning community and delivery teams (participate in and deliver learning pilots for example) to consistently test and improve learning experience design and resulting learning impact.
- Build processes and systems for the quality assurance and continuous improvement and updating of learning experiences (content
& other). - Build learning consulting and design capability within and across the learning community by leveraging deep learning experience design expertise applied in context based on a deep and strong understanding of the business and commercial context.
- Network, be curious, open minded, creative and research orientated in order to stay ahead of trend in business (including financial services) and learning experience design (tools, approaches – ftf, blended, augmented, social, virtual, JIT, bites etc., methodologies), that delivers commercial impact to the business.
- Work collaboratively with the learning consulting and learning delivery teams to provide relevant input into change and communications that enables the meaningful engagement & call to action for learners.
- Work collaboratively with the learning delivery teams to provide input of experience design for the successful delivery management of the learning designs (environment, context, facilitator etc.).
- Design commercial impact measures (all levels) to determine the quality of the learning experiences designed – but more importantly the impact they’ve had at individual, team and organizational level.
- Lead the implementation of learning experience launches / pilots, experience and impact measurement to assess and improve learning solutions and experiences for enterprise-wide consumption.
- Translate learning experience designs into learning materials (virtual, physical / other) for both learners, line managers, facilitators and integrators – that are practical, contextual, insightful, impactful and provide all role players in the learning process with everything needed to ensure learning lands with impact.
- Leverage deep design and solutionist capabilities to deliver learning experiences that can be customized or repurposed (e.g. f2f to virtual OR, modular, bite size elements etc.) for multiple different types of learning and or in multiple learning experiences where it makes sense to do so.
- Translate data from multiple business sources and the learning events themselves to effectively report on learning and business impact, learning experience and cost to value.
- Leverage expertise in digital design and digital design tools (languages) to enable the operationalization of learning experience designs.
- Create and maintain strong relationships with all learning experience design providers and the multitude of stakeholders across levels within the organization that drive our learning experience design and delivery success.
- Maintain effective learning quality management and process improvement practices across all learning types to ensure the organization meets regulatory requirements and sustains our learning provider status.
Delivery Management
- Work as a member of an agile delivery execution team/s to deliver priority HR book of work and or HR Transformation people data & analytics requirements.
- Provide people data & analytics subject matter expertise for various transformation and book of work initiatives.
- Work collaboratively within and across execution teams to define data and data integration requirements.
- Align to and actively participate in agile working practices within the delivery execution teams you’re assigned to (e.g. retro’s, pi planning etc.).
- Deliver on time, on quality and on budget always!
Finance, Risk & Governance
- Manage learning experience design project budgets and delivery – recoveries, vendor management, licensing etc.
- Participate and at times lead procurement initiatives for learning design tools, technologies and or off the shelf experiences for use across the portfolio.
- Identify learning experience design risks and mitigate these (pre, during & post solution deployment / delivery).
- Create learning experience design business cases & solution specifications for various governance processes (if required)
- Implement knowledge & document management processes for learning experience design aligned to Group Risk, Governance & Compliance & Broader Regulatory requirements and in general terms to ensure business continuity of learning experience design practices.
- Apply learning quality assurance frameworks and tools to guarantee learning experience design quality & learning history & business impact data across the portfolio.
- Provide internal / external risk, governance, compliance & broader regulatory reporting as required.
- Deliver on time & on budget (always).
People
- Coach & mentor Business, Learning Community and at times HR Product Owners and their teams in the area of learning experience design, digital / e – learning technologies (including platforms), etc.
• Conduct peer reviews, testing, problem solving within and across the broader learning experience design team.
Experience & Qualifications
- 8-10 years’ experience in learning experience design including technology related / digital learning platforms and tools with demonstrated business aligned, commercial knowledge & expertise to deliver enterprise-wide learning experiences within and or across portfolios and domains.
- Relevant B-Degree or equivalent in Learning Experience (this includes exposure to architecture, solution design, e-learning, digital learning platforms and languages, curation etc.)
- Deep expertise in strategic learning partnerships and advisory from needs analysis to learning architecture design and ultimately learning solution / experience design.
- Proven track record in independently developing learning solutions (multiple learning experience types, blended, social, augmented, e-learning / digital) that provide commercial / business impact.
- Experience in contributing to the design and implementation of learning experience practice design including process, policy and technologies.
- Proven track record in learning curation on learning experience platforms with demonstrated deep expertise in UI / UX.
- Proven track record in learning experience measurement and continuous improvement.
- Expertise in learning technologies and learning experience development tools.
- Knowledge and experience working with Agile and DevOps methodologies and tools.
- Expertise in data analysis, configuration and mining from ERP systems (SAP Preferred) and associated Cloud Solutions and Business / Data Warehouses (e.g. BW & SAP4HANA).
- Experience in contributing to the implementation / leverage of SaaS learning solutions.
