Specialist Analyst - AML/CFT

About the position

Are you passionate about financial integrity and regulatory compliance? Our client, a respected organisation in the regulatory sector, is looking for a Specialist Analyst to join their AML/CFT Supervision team. In this important role, you will help ensure that financial institutions follow the rules set out in the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001 (FIC Act). You’ll be responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance and making sure that anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing processes are effectively in place.
Key Performance Areas:

• Monitoring and enforcing compliance with the FIC Act
• Leading investigations into non-compliance and recommending enforcement actions
• Identifying and reporting sector trends that may impact regulatory effectiveness
• Conducting both on-site and off-site inspections of financial institutions
• Investigating complaints relating to supervised entities
• Enhancing supervisory processes and contributing to regulatory framework improvements
• Participating in internal and industry committees where required
• Mentoring junior analysts and supporting their development
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders on regulatory matters
• Performing various administrative functions linked to supervision and compliance

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Audit, Law, Risk Management, or a related field
• At least 4 years of experience from a Regulatory or Financial Services industry
• Strong knowledge of the FIC Act and Financial Sector Regulation Act and familiarity with Financial Sector Legislation environments
• Excellent report writing and analytical skills
• A completed certificate in Anti-Money Laundering / Compliance will be a strong advantage
