Our client, a well-established organization in the Cape Town Southern Suburbs, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead their kitchen team, uphold high standards, and contribute to innovative menu development.

Duties:
- Support kitchen operations by training and managing staff
- Oversee culinary activities ensuring the quality of dishes
- Maintain stock levels and place orders
- Monitor food expenses and seek cost-effective alternatives
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu creation and costing
- Train kitchen staff on safety and equipment use
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Coordinate with kitchen staff on needs and usage
- Recommend substitutions based on market trends
- Foster team cooperation and maintain a positive work environment
Requirements:
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs
- Strong understanding of hospitality industry standards
- Familiarity with backstock management and cost control
Familiarity with the following:
- C and R programming languages
- Adaptability in dynamic kitchen environments
