About the position
Solution Architecture involves designing, describing, and managing the engineering of solutions aligned to specific business problems. The Solutions Architect leads this function and is responsible for defining and presenting the overall technical vision of the solution.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Identify and design technology solutions that meet business requirements defined by the customer.
- Handle pre-sales, design, architecture, and planning activities.
- Produce detailed solution architecture documentation, including diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their communication and contact centre needs and convert those requirements into technical designs.
- Conduct discovery workshops to analyse requirements and provide expert recommendations.
- Design and oversee solution integrations with existing systems and applications.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and vendor offerings to optimise solution designs.
- Deliver training and knowledge transfer to clients and internal teams when required.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Support implementation phases, troubleshoot technical challenges, and ensure seamless transitions.
- Provide input into product development based on customer insights and changing market conditions.
- Maintain effective communication with peers, stakeholders, and leadership teams.
- Raise risks and issues to the technical lead, sales teams, and project managers as necessary.
- Perform audits and analysis of existing products to ensure proper configuration management.
- Assist with operational readiness activities.
- Work with the support team to resolve tickets, share knowledge, and document best practices.
- Recommend improvements to troubleshooting processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners
Skill Requirements & Personal Attributes
- Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering.
- Certifications from vendors such as Microsoft, Cisco, Juniper, or FortiNet are advantageous.
- Minimum 5+ years proven experience as a Solutions Architect (non-negotiable).
- Strong understanding of how IT aligns with business requirements.
- Ability to architect solutions in real time and think on your feet.
- Skilled in documenting solutions and integration designs in written and diagram formats.
- Experience in project delivery and engagement leadership.
- Professional knowledge of networking, telecommunications, cloud, security, and VoIP (engineering background beneficial).
- Experience conducting feasibility analyses for complex telecom requirements.
- Strong infrastructure design capabilities.
- Exposure to technology innovation, trend analysis, and evaluation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and manage relationships.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional written and verbal English communication.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to “read the room” and adapt solution pitches accordingly.
