About the position
Social Worker – Family Support Services
An established organisation is seeking a qualified Social Worker to provide psychosocial support to individuals and families. The successful candidate will have experience in case management, counselling, family preservation, statutory intervention and crisis management, with strong communication and report-writing skills. The role requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, including occasional after-hours and weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide counselling and therapeutic interventions to individuals, children, adolescents, couples and families.
- Manage cases, conduct assessments, home and hospital visits, and provide follow-up support.
- Prepare statutory documentation, reports and maintain accurate case records.
- Facilitate family meetings, case conferences and multidisciplinary interventions.
- Develop and facilitate family preservation, parenting and psychosocial programmes.
- Conduct group work, needs assessments and educational sessions.
- Support community programmes and identify psychosocial service needs.
- Provide guidance, consultation and supervision to students and volunteers.
- Deliver public education and participate in seminars and conferences.
