Snr Electrical Technician

About the position

To provide electrical engineering and technical services to support operational targets, while ensuring optimal equipment availability and safety within the area of responsibility.
Minimum Requirements:
Educational:

• National Diploma in Electronic / Electrical (NQF 6)
• Qualified Artisan - Trade Test

Experience:

• Up to 8 years' experience as an Electronic/Electrical Technician in a manufacturing environment
• PLC experience required

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support and Maintenance:

• Perform daily reactive, planned, and preventative maintenance routines
• Conduct fault diagnosis and repairs to equipment across the site, including root cause analysis
• Ensure all maintenance job cards are closed upon completion
• Maintain machine process capabilities
• Program and maintain PLCs and robots
• Keep up to date with equipment and process requirements through manuals and production instructions
• Provide ad hoc technical support throughout the factory

Compliance:

• Operate within established controls and procedures
• Identify and report risks or areas of concern to management
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures

Customer Service:

• Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers
• Identify and solve problems while demonstrating high integrity

Cost Control:

• Promote effective and transparent use of financial and other resources
• Control expenditure within budgetary limits and report deviations
• Explore opportunities to reduce costs

Essential Knowledge & Skills:

• Computer literate (MS Office Suite)
• Knowledge of discipline-specific software such as ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
• Proficiency with PLCs and robots
