About the position
Our client is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee construction activities on engineering infrastructure projects in Gauteng. This opportunity is suited to a proactive leader with strong construction management experience who can ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the Project Manager on site and oversee all construction activities
- Coordinate site access, line outages, and line crossing arrangements where required
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates
- Ensure quality control throughout construction and oversee inspections for project handover
- Manage site administration, documentation, and correspondence
- Monitor compliance with project risk management and health and safety plans
- Lead site teams and resolve operational issues and conflicts
- Implement effective controls for project cost, quality, and programme performance
- Verify materials received and ensure compliance with project specifications
- Maintain site diaries, quality records, photographs, and project documentation
- Manage drawing registers and support commissioning activities
Requirements:
- National Technical Diploma, National Diploma, BTech, BEng, or BSc in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
- Relevant engineering experience based on qualification level
- Site management experience within engineering or construction projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Sound knowledge of construction quality management and contract administration
- Ability to work independently and manage multidisciplinary teams
Advantageous Experience:
- Power line and substation construction projects
