About the position
Our client is seeking two experienced Civil Technicians to join their team on site in Cape Town. This opportunity is ideal for technically skilled professionals with a relevant civil engineering qualification and 3-5 years of industry experience. Successful candidates will assist with site operations, technical inspections, construction quality, and the delivery of civil engineering projects.
Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma or BTech (Civil, Building, or Construction)
- Approximately 3-5 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
- Practical experience working on construction sites.
- Ability to interpret civil engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Good understanding of construction methods, quality control, and site safety requirements.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with site teams, contractors, and project management personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the supervision and coordination of civil engineering activities on site.
- Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and assist with quality assurance and quality control.
- Interpret technical drawings and identify potential construction issues.
- Record site measurements, progress updates, and relevant technical information.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
- Assist in resolving technical challenges and ensuring work is completed to the required standards.
- Promote compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
