About the position
We are seeking a skilled and reliable On-Site Factory Electrician to join our team at our busy production facility in Kensington, Cape Town. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth and continuous operation of our production equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all electrical maintenance, repairs, and installations within the factory.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults and breakdowns promptly.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all electrical work performed.
- Provide mechanical support and assistance as needed.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and address electrical issues efficiently.
- Work closely with the production and maintenance teams.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualified Electrician with relevant certifications and documentation.
- Proven experience as an on-site factory electrician.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Basic mechanical understanding and aptitude.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) with experience in troubleshooting and basic maintenance.
