About the position
A reputable mining operation based in Sikhwahlane, Mpumalanga is seeking to appoint a qualified and experienced Site Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven individual with strong cost accounting expertise to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced mining environment.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Reconcile diesel usage and monitor consumption
- Analyze raw material and final product data
- Investigate production figure anomalies and variances
- Assist with production forecasting and reporting
- Manage inventory reconciliation and control
- Prepare cost and management reports
- Support operational teams with financial analysis and reporting
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Participate in cost-saving initiatives and BEE compliance reporting
- Assist in procurement processes as required
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- BCom Accounting Degree or equivalent
- Progress toward a CIMA qualification will be advantageous
- Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience, with a focus on cost accounting
- Experience with Accpac (highly desirable)
- Background in procurement processes will be advantageous
- Advanced MS Excel proficiency is mandatory
- Fluent in English (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and own transport (preferred)
- Clear criminal record
- Medically fit to perform duties (as per Mine Health and Safety regulations)

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Highly organized with good administrative capabilities
