Job Description:

Serra Insurance Brokers is looking for a competent and reliable Short-Term Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Benoni.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing risk, underwriting personal/domestic lines, and ensuring policies are correctly issued and maintained. This role is ideal for someone with 2-3 years of experience in short-term insurance and a solid understanding of underwriting principles.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12
• RE:5 Certificate - Required before employment
• FAIS-recognised qualification (or currently in progress)
• 2-3 years' experience in short-term insurance underwriting (personal/domestic lines)
• Excellent administrative skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills

Ideal Candidate:

• Genuinely understands short-term insurance (not life, funeral, or medical)
• Has worked in a brokerage or insurer environment
• Keen to grow into a full underwriting role
• Loyal and proactive

Work Environment:

• Office-based in Benoni (no hybrid/remote option)
• Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30
