About the Role:
If you are a qualified Electrician with FMCG experience and the ability to thrive in a demanding environment, our Client is seeking a qualified Trade Tested Electrician (Red Seal) to join their maintenance team in Mobeni.
This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical systems and equipment within a fast-paced FMCG environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, while collaborating with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and optimise performance.
Reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, machinery, and equipment in line with safety standards and electrical codes
- Conduct preventative maintenance routines to ensure system reliability and longevity
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic tools and testing devices
- Inspect circuits and equipment regularly to identify hazards or malfunctions
- Report electrical problems, safety concerns, and risks to the Maintenance Manager
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with maintenance staff, engineers, and production teams to ensure seamless operations
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies or breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Work with both light and heavy current systems
- Apply knowledge of PLCs, VSDs/VFDs in operational settings
Requirements:
- Trade Tested Electrician (Red Seal)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in FMCG
- At least 1 years' experience with VSD/VFD systems
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Planning, prioritisation, and multitasking skills
- Root cause analysis capability
- Precision and attention to detail in workmanship
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
- Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime
- Working Hours: 07h30 -17h00 (Day Shift) / 18h00 - 06h00 (Night Shift)
