About the position
Our client is seeking a dedicated SHEQ Manager to take charge of their plant operations.
This is a key role overseeing critical production areas, including Corrugator, Printing, Smalls, Services, Material Handling, and Waste.
You will lead initiatives that ensure the health, safety, and productivity of the workforce, while also driving machinery performance and maintenance.
Your impact will be felt through effective waste management, accurate record-keeping, and continuous waste reduction.

Minimum requirements:
- BTech or relevant NQF Level 7 qualification.
- Exceptional knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment.
- SAMTRAC and HIRA certifications (beneficial).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure full compliance to applicable legislation.
- Implement appropriate and adequate procedural control measures.
- Provide sufficient physical safeguards, including safety PPE, for hazards.
- Maintain adequate controls for common risks such as slips, trips, and falls.
- Uphold adequate standards of housekeeping.
- Ensure training of all employees and external contractors.
- Ensure sufficient development and maintenance of safe operating procedures.
- Implement health and safety procedures.
- Drive SHEQ-related continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain quality system and certification.
- Ensure legal compliance with environmental laws.
- Measure the impact of the company’s operations on the environment and improve annually (carbon footprint, emissions, etc.).
- Identify hazards.
- Manage day-to-day security.
- Close out insurable risks highlighted.
