About the position
Shumani Industrial Equipment is seeking a dynamic and experienced Service Manager to lead its KwaZulu-Natal operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving service excellence, managing technical teams, and ensuring optimal customer satisfaction and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Leadership and Performance Management
- Recruit, mentor, and develop service staff
- Foster a high-performance culture through empowerment and accountability
- Manage team communication, training, and performance reviews
- Resolve disputes and implement corrective actions
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Project Execution
- Oversee service tasks and monitor project progress
- Resolve customer issues and ensure service excellence
- Develop and implement service procedures and standards
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Liaise with customers and subcontractors to ensure satisfaction
Business Strategy and Budgeting
- Develop and manage departmental business plans and budgets
- Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions
- Analyze monthly costs and variances
- Contribute to strategic planning and business development
Minimum Requirements
- Matric certificate
- Diesel / Auto Electric / Forklift trade test certificate
- 3-year tertiary qualification (Business qualification advantageous)
- Senior-level experience in material handling or industrial servicing
- Strong decision-making and leadership skills
- Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution
