Senior UiPath RPA Technical Lead / Business Analyst
Johannesburg, Gauteng
This is a hybrid role, combining remote working with regular client site visits across the Gauteng region.

Our client is looking for a senior UiPath professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working directly with clients, and taking ownership of solution architecture and delivery. You'll be instrumental in growing our Intelligent Automation capability while delivering high-impact automation projects across leading organisations.
THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE ARE:
- Senior Technical Delivery ExperienceIdeally, you should have at least 5 years' experience delivering enterprise software, automation, or systems integration solutions, including at least 2 years in a senior technical role such as a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, or Lead Developer.If you have slightly less experience but can demonstrate strong technical capability and leadership, we'd still like to hear from you.
- Enterprise Automation ExperienceYou have hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying enterprise automation solutions using UiPath or another recognised automation platform such as Microsoft Power Automate, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Appian, Camunda, or similar [URL Removed] importantly, you understand the principles of enterprise automation and know how to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions, regardless of the platform you've worked with.
- Solution Design & Systems IntegrationYou are experienced in designing technical solutions and integrating enterprise applications using REST/SOAP APIs, SQL databases, authentication methods, file-based integrations, and enterprise business systems such as SAP, Dynamics 365, ERP, or CRM [URL Removed] also have hands-on development experience in one or more enterprise technologies such as C#/.NET, VB.NET, Java, Python, or JavaScript, and understand software development principles, object-oriented programming, debugging, exception handling, and systems [URL Removed] all, you're someone who enjoys solving technical problems and building robust, enterprise-grade solutions.
- Client-Facing Consulting & Stakeholder EngagementYou're comfortable working directly with business stakeholders, IT teams, solution architects, and project managers. You enjoy understanding business challenges, facilitating discussions, gathering requirements, and translating technical concepts into practical solutions that clients can understand and trust.
- Technical Leadership & End-to-End DeliveryYou have experience leading the full technical delivery lifecycle - from solution design and development through testing, deployment, production support, and continuous [URL Removed] confident reviewing code, mentoring other developers, making technical decisions, maintaining high development standards, and ensuring solutions are delivered successfully and meet client expectations.
- Travel & MobilityYou hold a valid South African driver's licence and have access to your own reliable transport, and are willing and able to travel to client sites across the Gauteng region as part of a hybrid consulting environment, with occasional travel to other parts of South Africa when required by client engagements.
It would also count highly in your favour if you have:
- Experience facilitating process discovery workshops, gathering business requirements, producing Process Definition Documents (PDDs), assessing automation feasibility, and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- A UiPath Advanced RPA Developer (UiARD), UiPath Certified Professional (UCP-BA), or other relevant UiPath certification.
- Experience working with UiPath AI Centre, Document Understanding, or Process Mining capabilities.
- Exposure to Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), ERP, financial systems, or finance transformation programmes.
- An understanding of automation governance, Centre of Excellence (CoE) frameworks, and enterprise automation operating models.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or another relevant tertiary qualification.
DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Technical RPA Delivery & Architecture
- Designing and owning UiPath RPA solution architectures that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with UiPath best practices and standards.
- Developing and configuring end-to-end UiPath automations, including complex workflows using REFramework and both attended and unattended automation models.
- Owning the full technical delivery lifecycle, from solution design and development through testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.
- Managing and configuring UiPath Orchestrator, including robot provisioning, scheduling, queues, monitoring, and alerting.
- Keeping automation solutions current with UiPath platform updates, deprecation notices, and evolving best practices.
Technical Quality & Governance
- Taking ownership of the technical quality of automation deliverables.
- Implementing robust exception handling, logging, alerting, and monitoring frameworks across automation solutions.
- Providing technical oversight, mentoring, and code reviews for other developers.
- Advising on integration patterns, API connectivity, authentication, and credential management within the UiPath ecosystem.
Client-Facing Technical Leadership
- Acting as the senior technical point of contact for client IT teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
- Leading technical scoping, solution design discussions, and effort estimation for new automation opportunities.
- Contributing to solution proposals and proactively identifying technical risks, dependencies, and scope changes.
- Translating complex technical concepts and solution decisions into clear, client-friendly recommendations.
Business Analysis Support (Desirable)
- Leading or supporting process discovery workshops and stakeholder interviews where required.
- Assessing business requirements, automation feasibility, solution complexity, and potential return on investment.
- Producing or reviewing Process Definition Documents (PDDs), Solution Design Documents (SDDs), UAT plans, and acceptance criteria.
- Translating business requirements into practical technical solutions, particularly where a dedicated Business Analyst is not assigned.
- Facilitating client discussions around process improvement, change adoption, and the business impact of automation.
