About the position
ENERGY - ELECTRICITY GENERATION AND DISTRIBUTION
SENIOR TECHNICIAN: MEASUREMENT OPERATIONS
BASIC SALARY: R532 737 TO R560 139 PER ANNUM - REF NO: NRG 124/25
Requirements:
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- ECSA registration as Professional Engineering Technician (Pr Techni Eng)
- Class 4 Meter Worker certification
- Five (5) to eight (8) years' (post first relevant tertiary qualification) CT and VT metering experience
- South African Code B driver's licence.
Key performance areas:
- Provide specialised functional support in accordance with SANS 474: "Code of Practice for electricity metering" in the execution of duties
- Understand and execute SAP processes pertaining to the execution of tasks
- Supervise staff by risk assessing and completing required safety documentation, monitor activities, manage staff in absence of management
- Support the measurement function by ensuring correction installations, fault-finding, commissioning and recommissioning
- Support relating to specified organisational units such as Measurement Operations and Measurement Automation
- General administrative functions including budgeting and reporting.
