About the position
The Senior Technical Product Manager: Remittance is responsible for the strategy, design, and delivery of remittance products and platforms that enable secure, fast, and compliant money transfers (domestic and cross-border). This role ensures alignment with regulatory frameworks, customer experience goals, and enterprise technology strategy, while driving innovation in digital payments and international money movement.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Define and own the remittance product vision and roadmap across digital and enterprise platforms.
Align remittance solutions with business strategy, global payments initiatives, and customer demand.
Monitor trends in cross-border payments, digital wallets, blockchain/crypto remittances, and real-time payment networks.
Balance customer-centric design with security, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Product Delivery & Execution
Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, compliance, payments operations, partnerships) to deliver remittance products, APIs, and services.
Translate regulatory and business requirements into detailed product specifications and user stories.
Oversee delivery of payment rails integrations (SWIFT, SEPA, Visa/Mastercard, mobile money, RTP networks).
Drive API-first, cloud-native solutions to support digital channels (mobile apps, web, agent platforms).
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure compliance with local and international remittance regulations (FATF, AMLD, OFAC, FinCEN, SARB, etc.).
Partner with AML/Fraud teams to embed sanctions screening, KYC/AML, and transaction monitoring in remittance flows.
Manage risk frameworks for cross-border transactions, foreign exchange (FX), and correspondent banking relationships.
Support audit and regulatory reporting obligations for remittance operations.
Data, Analytics & Optimization
Partner with data teams to implement real-time monitoring of remittance flows.
Leverage analytics to optimize pricing, FX spreads, transaction speeds, and fraud prevention.
Drive customer insights and feedback loops to improve remittance user experiences.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Collaborate with banks, money transfer operators (MTOs), fintech partners, and payment networks.
Negotiate and manage relationships with global remittance vendors and technology providers.
Act as the bridge between compliance, business, and engineering teams, ensuring delivery of secure and seamless solutions.
Represent remittance product strategy in executive steering committees and regulatory engagements.
