Job Title: Senior Tax Clerk
Industry: Accounting
Location: Sunningdale, CT
The Senior Tax Clerk will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and filing of tax returns for individuals and businesses. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations, as well as excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with gathering and organizing financial information for tax returns
- Prepare and complete tax returns accurately and in a timely manner
- Research and stay up-to-date on tax laws and regulations
- Assist clients with tax planning and compliance
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams regarding tax matters
- Assist with training and mentoring junior tax staff
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- SAIT Registered Preferred
- SAIPA or SAICA Articles are advantageous
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Greatsoft, Xero and Sage software is a plus
- Fluent with SARS easyfiling and E-Filing
